The app can be used on both mobiles and desktops to share messages, send voice notes, pictures, videos, make video calls, and more. WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, which means only the sender and the receiver can view the content/messages shared on the app.

The Facebook-owned app, uses Wi-Fi or cellular data to send and receive messages or calls. Moreover, the app is free of cost, there is no sign up fee and no particular data plan is required to use it.

Some of the features of WhatsApp are as follows:

Secure messaging
: The messages that you send on WhatsApp are end-to-end encrypted. Only the sender and receiver can see those messages
Photos and video sharing: You can send pictures, videos, and GIFs on group chats and individual chats that would not pixelate and can be downloaded easily
Voice and video calls: You can make individual and group voice & video calls on WhatsApp. Up to 8 participants are allowed in the group calls

Voice notes: You can record and send voice notes to individuals or groups on WhatsApp

Document sharing: You can easily share different types of documents like PDFs, slideshows and spreadsheets

WhatApp Web: It is the desktop version of WhatsApp Messenger that can be used in the web browser. Moreover, you need to have a stable internet connection on your phone to use the web version

WhatsApp Business: Purely meant for business purposes, WhatsApp Business lets business persons connect with their customers and also provide them updates and support as per their convenience

Apart from the above features, WhatsApp also offers you a customized experience by allowing you to change the backgrounds of individual or group chats. Besides, you can hide your online status or ‘Last Seen’ status, block a contact if you don’t wish to connect with the person, delete a group of which you don’t want to be a part of, and much more.
